As Seattle folk are all talking about the wonderfully warm and sunny weekend that we have just had I’m just getting done printing some simply beautiful prints of this expectant couple.  These were taken in our photography studio in Seattle a little while ago and I thought I would post these quickly before calling it a day and taking a break.   The first one below is being framed up in a lovely 20×26 frame and I can’t wait till they see it all printed up.

Today has been a great day making prints in our photography studio in Seattle.  The last few weeks have been very busy both in the studio and out so we scheduled today and tomorrow for printing to get caught up with our client orders.  Tonight I cranked up the music, much to the amusement of the cats as I was singing along and have been working on finishing off Bonnie and Ryan’s prints and folio’s after their recent maternity session.  We had such a great time working with them and got some great stuff its been hard to pick a favorite photograph from our session, although after finishing this shot below I think its got to up there in my top.   I just love how elegant and thoughtful Bonnie looks in this one. 

Towards the end of last week Nicole got to sit down with Jamie and Adam, two of our recent maternity clients to review their lovely photographs from the photography session we had in our studio in Seattle.  The photography session was a whole lot of fun, this is their first baby and Jamie is looking simply beautiful and having a good pregnancy.   Here are a few edited previews for them to start the Monday morning off to a great start. 

We have been very lucky recently to have had quite a few maternity clients that have come into our photography studio in Seattle which has been very exciting.  There is something incredibly special about photographing something that is so amazingly beautiful and that is also about to change in a huge way in just a few weeks!  Our recent maternity photography sessions have all been with couples expecting their first child which makes it especially wonderful and such an exciting time that I feel honored to get the chance to work with them. 

Here we have the wonderful Bonnie and Ryan who came in last week and are visiting us again today to preview all of the beautiful photographs that we took of them.  They brought in their pug as well and he was all keen to get involved, Ryan was sporting some lovely tattoos that he was keen to show off his ink which we were happy to do.   We had such a blast working with them and can’t wait to see their reactions today, until then here are just a few previews for them.

Back in February of this year Nicole and Stephen came into our photography studio in Seattle to make some photographs of them for Valentines Day.  We had a fun session and it was clear that they were well and truly in love. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that ten months later that they were back in the studio for their maternity photographs.  We had a fun time together and took our time letting Nicole relax.  Here are a few quick previews for them. 

Here we have a lovely lady that came into the studio recently who was just a couple of weeks away from the birth of their first baby. We sat down in the presentation room on Thursday last week to review the proofs with them and this was one of my favorites from the collection. To me this captures the anticipation of pregnancy with the expectant mother looking down and at that moment feeling the baby move in her belly.  This is their first child and they don’t know the sex which is a little unusual these days.  So exciting for them.

Jenny came into the studio on Friday for her second maternity session.   She first visited the photography studio back in November and we had decided to do a second session to capture the growth of the belly as her pregnancy involved.  Right now she is about five-six weeks away from her due date and everything is going very well. The session was very relaxed, Jenny brought some breakfast snacks as we did start out early that day!

Although this is such an obviously thing to say, it’s incredible to see the amount of change that has happened with the belly in the last three months.   It’s hard not to get excited as you see how happy they are with the pending arrival of their first child and I feel very honored that I get to capture some of that onto film.   Here are a few of my favorites from Friday, in part chosen to show the large amount of change from last time that’s shown here.  I do love the ‘baby’ photograph above! 

I have been working with my friend Melvin Powel who is an excellent film and video maker to create some video’s for my photography business.  I already have lots of text on both my main web site and this blog about my approach to photography and what makes our studio unique, but as a visual artist I very much believe that video is a good way to convey my message in a compelling way. 

This is the first of hopefully many video’s that we will be producing together.  We are working with the wonderful folks from Mixpo that provide an excellent platform for small business’s wanting to create their own videoad and its their solution that is hosting this. Last weekend I was asked to photograph Melanie’s baby shower in preparation for the upcoming birth of their twins.  As you can imagine with a large population of ladies, many of them already mothers in attendance it was a totally fun afternoon with lots of animated conversation on motherhood amongst other topics.  Torri of A La Republica fame was running all the catering and put on a fabulous spread of delightful treats for everyone.   Here we have Melanie, left with her good friend Sarah hanging out on the porch deck. 

Last weekend Jenny came over for a few hours so we could work on her first maternity session.  Her and husband Steve have just moved back to Seattle after spending a few years away and are settling back into Seattle just as other changes are happening - their first child.  We have spoken a bunch over the last couple of months and decided that they wanted to do one initial photography session just as Jenny was starting to show and then another one in the New Year closer to the birth.  This way we could show the incredible growth that happens especially during the last couple of months.   The session was a lot of fun with us working though a bunch of ideas, some more artist and classic and others just plan fun.

A couple of quick previews here. I’m looking forward to seeing them both again in the New Year for their second session.
