One of the many things that I have been working on these last few weeks has been to prepare for a jewelry project that should be starting soon.  Jenny Miller is the artist and makes amazing jewelry pieces by hand in her workspace out of her home.  She designs and makes all the pieces herself and typically no two are 100% identical.  She first got into her jewelry after the tragic death of her brother as a way to remember him.

Her work is just beautiful and I’m excited to be working with her on the project.  These photographs of her were taken a couple of weeks ago.  We were in our photography studio in Seattle, Jenny and her close friend Julie were working on naming and descriptions of a number of the pieces, Josh was coding her new web site and I was setting up my photography equipment and lights to take photographs of the jewelry.

We took a little bit of a break from the work and took some fun photographs of her wearing her art. All in all quite fun!

A few weeks ago I was working on assignment taking some corporate head-shots of a bunch of fun people.   The group was a mixture of guys and gals but all three ladies that I was photographing were all called Michele or the version with two ‘l’s - Michelle.  The assignment was on a Monday and I figured its a Monday so a perfect day to post the Michele’s.

Maybe we should rename Monday to be Michele!

Here are a couple of photographs from a recent Mothers Day session that we did here in our photography studio here in Seattle.  Working with guys this age is so much fun, but I will also say a lot of hard work.  Figuring out new ways to entertain them and persuade them to try different things certainly keeps me on my toes.  But from their reactions Yasmin, Rubin and Linnea seemed to have lots of fun and it wasn’t too painful for them.  Mum and Dad were standing on the sidelines watching all of the activity and I wanted to post a couple of previews for them before they come in to see the full line up of proofs.

After speaking to a couple of clients recently I realized that they weren’t aware that we had our Father’s Day promotion going on right now.   It’s been on the home page of the main photography site for a couple of weeks but I realized that not everyone visits the site frequently unless they are looking for a particular photograph or researching our photography sessions.   One of them was really disappointed as they were looking for a unique gift for their Dad but had already purchased something else.

To try and make sure that this doesn’t happen in the future I’ve started to create an exclusive list of clients and potential clients that have visited our web site or studio that might be interested to hear about our special offers.  In the future whenever we have a special promotion coming up we will send this exclusive list an email before the promotion gets posted to the main site or before the mailers goes out.   In some cases I’m going to create special offers that are only sent to this list.   Knowing that many potential clients visit the site doing research to find a new photographer but aren’t necessary ready to book there and then this might be handy for them as well.   And don’t worry, we won’t email anything more than once a month and will never share your email with anyone else.  To sign-up enter your details here.

Happy Saturday!
